In awe of our coworkers

On Sunday, our endearing KHOU.com coworkers threw Taylor and me a wonderful bridal shower at MiaBella, and it was awesome! It produced red faces, a few tears and yes, more photos -- we'll post the cute ones though.

Taylor and I also took a well-deserved break from our ridiculous diets to munch on pizza and guzzle mimosas. Pizza. Pizza with champagne. It was some kind of fantasy meal for me. If Domino's wanted me to be in a commercial, I'd put on an evening gown, hold a glass of Dom and shovel pizza into my face (in a sexy way that would sell millions of pizza pies).

But enough about dreams. Let's talk bridal showers.

Big props to 11 News reporter Jeff McShan for being the only male in attendance who wasn't required to be there. Ladies: He's single, drives a hot car and is very sweet!

I always enjoy hanging out with my coworkers outside of work, but Sunday was really special for me because my mom was there. She was really touched by what Michelle, Juanita and Christine had done for us, and it was the first time she'd met anyone from work. Way to make an awesome impression, ladies!

Being in the spotlight while opening presents is nerve-wracking! (Check out Taylor's face of sheer excitement.) Maybe there should be a movie playing behind the bride, so she can at least pretend they are watching it. It felt like a birthday party, and yes, there was cake! Delicious, white sheet cake ... mmmfh.

I had another "this is for real moment," but a good one. Christine gave me one of the things I wanted most off my registries: the Cupcake Courier!!

At some point, I'm going to put a piece of masking tape on the bottom that says, "OWEN." Then I'll tote 36 cupcakes to my future kids' schools on their birthdays. So, for at least a decade, I'll be thinking fondly of my KHOU.com coworkers.

I don't know! If my children go to a school that doesn't allow it, my dreams will be crushed. And then I'll put them in another school.
