May 2008 ArchivesSo Friday night I was getting my rock on at the Old 97's show with Mr. Wedding Belle and a few kajillion other fans when something awesome happened. Rhett Miller, lead singer and object of my affections since I was a wee 17-year-old lass in Dallas, started strumming the opening to a popular song called "Question." If you have not heard it, I suggest you do so. Listen here (it makes the story even better). Anyway, he starts strumming and then this random dude walks out on the stage and, since I am both keenly ... Contrary to popular belief, just because I am 24 years old does not mean I am addicted to the Internet. Yes, I spend more time on it than I'd like to (but it is my job), but I haven't left behind the special moments of feeling newsprint on my hands, reading a book or getting some time in natural light every day.
But there is no - freakin' - way... Beef: If it's what's for dinner tonight, I might have to kill someone. Not to knock Houston's undoubtedly posh incarceration facilities, but through careful deduction I've come to the conclusion that they will pale in comparison to the Hilton San Diego Resort. So violent crime is out. I guess I'm going to have to quit my diet.
On Sunday, our endearing KHOU.com coworkers threw Taylor and me a wonderful bridal shower at MiaBella, and it was awesome! It produced red faces, a few tears and yes, more photos -- we'll post the cute ones though.
Obligatory countdown update: Three months till we're married! Last night, Matt and I reminisced about the day he proposed. Did I like how he did it? Was I surprised? I guess it's funny to be talking about something as if it happened 30 years ago when it happened less than a year ago, but that's my style. Also, (SPOILER ALERT) last night's episode of "The Office" got us talking about it.
Hello, friends. I just had my first bridal shower. It was lovely. There were lots of people there, lots of presents, lots of treats ... it was lots of fun. But a bride at a bridal shower is the center of attention. And as if that isn't awkward enough, she is also the subject of numerous candid photographs. Snap! Snap! Snap! Go the cameras, happily clicking and flashing, documenting her every move. It's at this point I'd like to revisit an oft-neglected feature of most digital cameras: The delete button. Use it with impunity. Please. Because otherwis... Things are heating up in AMC's world. We're just three days away from the three-month mark (three months, Taylor!), which means theknot.com's countdown ticker reads under 100 days.
WHA? I have fewer than 100 days to get all of this stuff done? Is this a joke? I have more to do than the average bear, people. ...(Except for mine, of course ... ha.) First twin (and fellow Texas ex! Hook 'em!) Jenna Bush will marry Henry Hager back on the Crawford Ranch on May 10. The two have dated for several years, and they look really happy in pictures. (Yeah, I read a lot of celeb/gossip blogs, so?)
