Not excelling.

excel1.jpgSince I've entered the ennui zone (no pressing wedding-related tasks to accomplish), I thought I'd spend yet more time on my computer and create the master guest list. It will hold the guests' addresses and their final RSVPs.

I got my pretty Powerbook in 2005. In 2007, I opened Microsoft Excel for the first time. This is not a joke. Anything I learned about that maze of formulas that make no sense (communications major, people) in high school is gone, out the window, see ya, not coming back.

I am actually considering taking some of these free online courses from Microsoft.com ... classes? Quoi? I can't even correctly delete a row without messing everything up. It is so sad.

Matt does things with Excel all the time: finances, class schedules, lists upon lists. This is just one of those giant differences between us: He loves to type lists; I write everything. I love writing, even though my handwriting is, how do I say, teh suck?

Surely someone has invented a program meant for this purpose. I know The Knot has this guest-list manager online, but I am going to do everyone a favor and NOT put their personal info on the Internet. I am really sure Matt's second cousin needs a copy of "The Nest."

The OTHER thing making this process unexcellent (sorry, Bill and Ted) is that a lot of people I know are still moving around, getting new addresses. So maybe it's too early to start this list, but dang it -- I need something to do! I am feeling wholly unproductive!

... perhaps I should spend all of this time in the gym.

I hear ya on the Excel suckage. I have no idea how to use it. John is seriously a MASTER at Excel. It is kind of scary. But anyway, congrats on getting the big stuff done, and enjoy some relaxation time!

I can teach you some excel tricks that will make your head spin! Thank you for not putting our info online, I really don't need another strange magazine showing up in my mailbox.

If you want something to do, I have a scrapbook that won't complete itself.... =D
