Taylor does an excellent job of reminding me how many days, weeks or months we have to go till our respective weddings. She's not here today, but I know she would have walked in and said, "FOUR MONTHS, DUDE!" because she said that six days ago for her four-month date. I told myself I'd take the month of April off, because its days were my last of freedom before an onslaught of events: Matt's graduation (HALLELUJAH! ADIOS, ANN ARBOR!), Matt's move to NYC for summer (sadness), Matt's apartment situation ...
WAIT. This is all Matt-related. OK so there are other events, such as some bridal showers, menu planning and the constant event: maintaining weight/goal of losing a tiny bit more. I just wanna give a shoutout to the foods I miss most. 1) Sourdough bread: Fake butter isn't the same without you. 2) Other carbs: I once joked about throwing a "carb carnival" in college. I am seriously missing a specific type of Filipino roll. Describing it is too painful. 3) Ice cream: I bought a pint last month, and it lasted two days. No more. 4) Donuts: Specifically, Shipley's. More specifically, chocolate iced. 5) Chick-fil-A: You deliver little chix in a blanket almost weekly to the TV station. I cry at my desk and eat a green apple. Four months until food. Oh how I've missed your blog. I needed my monthly dose of Adrienne, and what I thought was just reading your latest entry turned into me reading your entire blog from creation to now. That's right. The whole thing. I am so proud of you for giving up those foods you love! I am in a wedding over Memorial Day, and you are inspriring me to do the same! Well...after the April birthday ice cream celebration we are about to have in the office...but that's neither here nor there.
Omg, a platter of chickfila...are you trying to torture me?!?! Your blog has made me cry into my celery and cucumber snack.
I've been reading your blog since it's been up! It's nice to hear that others are going through the same thing I am. My wedding is on June 7 in my hometown in Pennsylvania and I'm already starting to get stressed with all that needs to be done. I'm going home for my bridal shower this weekend and it's packed full that I hope I have time to breath! I thought I had everything I needed but then silly little things creep up like what time do I need the cake delivered for an outdoor reception. And the watching what you eat thing sucks!! I can't wait for my honeymoon to eat WHATEVER I WANT and not feel guilty! Take care and good luck!!
I'm glad you broke away from this madness to have a banh mi sandwich with me. Savor the flavor. :-)
Two sammiches. Two. ;)
So how much longer will you be a "khou-ian"?
Dude. 118 days to go. Take a big fat bite out of that fact and pretend it is a mountainous chunk of yellow cake with a modest -- yet flavorful -- amount of chocolate frosting.
P.S. In defiance of the diet deities, I ate carbs yesterday. (read: tres leches cake, cheese rolls and a ... err .. three Brazilian margarita thingies) Today, my jeans punish me. Yay weddings.
I was 10 seconds away from buying bread at the store Friday. It was the worst feeling to walk away with my sad-looking cart of VEGETABLES.
I love that you know how I like my cake.
You do NOT need to lose any more weight missy! I already know for a fact your dress fits very very well. Don't screw it up!
