Saturday afternoon was the runthru, the dress rehearsal -- the bridal portrait. The hair was OK (not exactly what I imagined), the makeup passed the longevity test (Cinthia Moore rocks!), and I only snapped at my poor mother six to 10 times (sorry mom). But the unpleasant surprise at the end of a two-hour photo shoot in Hermann Park: dozens of cat-like scratches on my legs. The culprit: my petticoat! That net of delicious poofiness stabbed me in the back! I didn't realize I was really a part of the sequel to "There Will Be Blood." One of my photographers suggested I wear pantyhose that hits capri length, but I don't really wanna do that. I guess I could sew in some fabric to protect my legs from further malaise. What an unexpected thing to go wrong. But I feel good about the pictures. My legs can't say the same. P.S. How could I leave out the best part of yesterday: As I walked out of the HMNS bathroom, full makeup/hair/gown, I overheard a mother explain to a table of children, "... well when they turn 15, they have a big party and get to wear a big dress." Kill me. TrackBackTrackBack URL for this entry: |

Wait...why isn't there a layer of smooth fabric between your legs and the tulle??
I don't know! I called the store today, and they said I should bring it in for them to check out. I am horrified.
hmm don't worry, i will probably look 15 too. except i don't look hispanic. :P
Happy QuinceaƱera! Hahaha! Thanks for the wedding updates. Sometimes I feel disconnected from Houston happenings. I hope you aren't too stressed out! xoxoxo
AWFUL. Seriously, I hope they get that fixed. Who said being a bride was easy!!
I love the "best" part of the day. Classic. Especially in Texas.
So can you take the whole petticoat malfunction up with your seamstress or the designer?! I can just imagine a bride (or, ahem, you) walking down the aisle with tears because of the PAIN her dress was causing. That is awful. They have to fix this.
You could sue for damages.
oh - and I didn't even know our website made you enter a security code! haha...oops.
