Now, if we could only slow the rain down and let it soak
into the ground where it will really help us out the most. Farmers and ranchers
have been waiting for this kind of rain for over two years. They just don't want
it to come all at once.
As you can see from the rainfall totals today another two to three inches fell
in southeast Texas since this morning, with a few more showers expected early
this evening. The official rainfall at Bush was a daily record of 2.33", almost an
inch more than the old record of 1.38" in 1953. The October rainfall at Bush now stands
at 10.07". This is 6.28" above the typical October rainfall. We are now
seeing a deficit of less than two and half inches for the year. The next wet weather
pattern from Thursday through Friday could end the drought.
