Drought Drys Up Thanks To Record Rain

Oct_Rain.jpg Flooding downpours ended the month with excess rainfall and a record 24 hour rainfall for Houston of 2.48" on Thursday.
Another series of rainy days came to the rescue to finally end the drought before the end of the month. October ends with over thirteen inches of rain making it the 5th wettest on record. The September and October rainfall totals of 20.39" are almost 50% of the yearly average rainfall totals. So its no wonder that southeast Texas is finally out of the drought in a very quick fashion. Now the payoff is another Fall weekend of cooler overnight temperatures in the 40s and mild sunny 70 degree days with no rain in sight until late next week. . . Happy Halloween.
