All access to Allen Parkway between Taft and I-45 North Freeway will be restricted for Fourth of July festivities. The exits to Allen Parkway off of I-45 both north and southbound will be blocked until 5am Saturday July 5th. Alternate Routes: Trying to exit off I-45... Southbound take the Bagby/Pierce Dallas exit. Northbound take the Houston/Memorial exit. For you Allen Parkway drivers, use I-10 Katy Freeway, Memorial, Dallas, West Gray or Westheimer to access downtown.

Darby,
Every morning when you report on Highway 249, you say its "clean and green in from Magnolia (or Plantersville) to the Sam Houston Tollway." That may be true, but between the Tollway and I-45 (i.e, West Mt. Houston) the traffic lights are frequently out - especially after a rain storm. It would be GREAT if you would tell us when this occurs, like this morning and a few days last week. The backup is horrendous! And why can't the city, or the county, or the state, or whomever fix this? Its been this way for years.
Thanks!
