I, and an increasing number of other devoted teenage followers are addicted to the paradoxically innocent yet passionate songs of Christofer Drew's NeverShoutNever, which resemble the likes of a younger hybrid version of Jason Mraz and Jack Johnson.

Christofer Drew is the socially awkward high school boy we all can relate to who one day picked up a guitar to vent about high school crushes and pursuing big dreams from the small town of Juniper, Missouri. 26 million hits after posting his songs on his self-created myspace page he is now on the sold-out, national 'Let's Get Happy' tour before his first full-length album debuts in May. Girls and boys alike started lining up outside in the cold and rainy weather four hours before the show in Houston so they could stand close to their boy-next-door break-through obsession. NeverShoutNever certainly made the wait worthwhile by delivering a performance that sounded even better than the recorded songs, with much bouncing and chatting with the audience in between. "I'm Christofer Drew, and I have a crush on you," he says to the audience before he breaks into his hit 'BigCityDreams'. This music video is now collecting votes on mtvu.com. Part of Drew's appeal lies in his demeanor as a vulnerable and self-conscious teenager who is living every socially awkward teenager's dream by gaining fame for expressing his emotions to the masses in the form of song. "New fame doesn't faze me," contends Drew right before he invites two birthday girls backstage for a photo-op. "I am the same person I was a year ago, only now more people have realized they can relate to me."

After his performance, he talks with band members to go over the success of the show, discussing possible improvements. While most of the NeverShoutNever songs are lighthearted and fun, Drew says as he matures, his music matures with him as he adds more instruments and deals with more life issues.

Watch out for NeverShoutNever's debut album in May, as he is a breakthrough artist who is only bound to get bigger. If you missed his concert last Friday, Drew will return to Houston after his sold-out 'Let's Get Happy' tour wraps up, performing April 9 at the House of Blues for the Bamboozle Road Show. He is also in the lineup of musicians for the Vans Warped Tour coming to Houston this summer.
