Michelle Ponto: October 2008 ArchivesOctober 29, 2008 The Crystal Ballroom at The Rice Lofts in downtown Houston was the backdrop for a special awards ceremony. It was there that the city's Top 25 women were honored. Now in its third year, the event pays tribute to women who have broken barriers in their respective fields and left a lasting impression on the city. Honorees ranged from civic and cultural icons, to entrepreneurs, to corporate executives. They are the city's female visionaries. Check out the slideshow. October 18, 2008 The Blues Brothers' Rock Ride and concert was an invitation only event. On the Saturday afternoon, Jim and Dan led a thousand bikers into downtown Houston for a chance to check out the House of Blues concert hall.
