The Houston SPCA hosted an Equine and Farm Animal Adoption Day on Saturday, June 27. They hoped to find permanent, loving homes for a large number of rescue horses, goats, pigs, chickens and other farm animals. Check out photos from the event Racing has gone to the dogs! The Sam Houston Race Park Saturday hosted the Inaugural Weiner Dog Races presented by Petco. The event included a series of races featuring the four-legged speedsters and a pet costume contest open to dogs of all breeds. This year's Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show champion, Stump, visited pediatric patients at MD Anderson Cancer Center on June 10, 2009. The event was part of the Make-A-Wish foundation and Paul Wilson was one of the children at the event. The 18-year-old was diagnosed with a life-threatening medical condition a couple of years ago.
