The excitement is bouncing off the walls. Pete Olson had just arrived at his watch party at Berryhill Restaurant in Sugarland. There were cheers and chants - people yelling..Pete, Pete, Pete. Here at Mamacita's, a popular Mexican restaurant in Webster, supporters are showing up. The candidate herself is expected by 9p.m. Supporters expect her biggest fight to be in Fort Bend county, home to opponent Pete Olson.

TJ Aulds

gibbsolson.jpgShelley Sekula Gibbs and Pete Olson have found very little to agree, especially when it comes to who is best to be the Republican nominee for the 22nd Congressional District. The two runoff candidates for the nomination squared off again in a debate, this time in Clear Lake.
Again, Sekula Gibbs painted Olson as an out of towner who has spent his career in ...

It took until 2:29 a.m., but all of the votes have been counted in the Harris County Republican primary. That's 7 1/2 hours after the polls closed.
But that's early compared to the Democrats, who are still 233 precincts away from calling it an election.
There's no telling when we will get final results.

Mutiny on the Caucus

2:26 AM Wed, Mar 05, 2008 |

Folks waiting to participate in the Democratic primary at the Nimitz High School polling location had to call out sheriff's deputies early Wednesday morning, when a frustrated election/precinct judge apparently couldn't handle the huge crowds and just walked off the job.
Nimitz was the polling location for 8 Democratic voting precincts.
