WOW... That's the word precinct captain Richard Cortez is using to describe voter turnout at his east-end polling place. Compared to the 300 who voted on election day four years ago, more than 800 voted today.
Now we're waiting for the caucus to get underway, and there's a surge of participitation for that process also. The captain says only about five voters caucused four years ago. Tonight, I'm standing in a room with at least 80 voters, many of them first-time caucus goers who tell me they felot compelled to take part here.

There's a tremendous sense of anticipation at one east-end polling place this evening. The precinct captain tells us voters have "caucusing" on their minds.
A number of Obama and Hillary supporters have announced their intentions to take part in the precinct convention later tonight. Volunteers with each campaign have been passing out leaflets and urging supporters to participate.
"This is fun... I've never done anything like this before," one voter told us just before casting her ballot.
So far today, over 400 have voted here, a number that's expected to rise as the 7pm deadline app...
