.September is starting off to be one happy month.

And here's why...throughout the month, which is Hunger Action Month by the way, several local watering holes are hosting Happy Hours for Hunger.

Now this is what I call a win/ win for everyone. That's because while you are relaxing with your friends and enjoying the benefits that come with happy hour, you'll be raising money for the Houston Food Bank.

HAPPY HOUR FOR HUNGER LOCATIONS
I know you all want to drink... um, I mean, donate...for a good cause, so I've included a few of the Happy Hours for Hunger spots with this blog:

South Beach The Night Club, 808 Pacific in Midtown
For the entire month of September, South Beach is offering no cover charge on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays (excluding holidays and special events) when guests bring a can to donate to the Houston Food Bank.

Chances, 1102 Westheimer
For the month of September, Chances will host a 'Change Against Hunger' drive, where customers are challenged to donate all their loose change (and more) into specially marked containers to benefit the Houston Food Bank.

Poison Girl, 1641 Westheimer
Poison Girl is celebrating their fifth anniversary celebration on September 6 with live music by JW Americana, who are reforming just for the party. Cover is a canned food item for the Houston Food Bank. Donations will also be accepted. 5 p.m. to close.

Absinthe, 609 Richmond & Bowl Cafe, 607 Richmond
On September 18, Absinthe's happy hour will include a food drive, a special tip jar for the donations to the food bank and a raffle for gift items, all benefiting the Houston Food Bank! Happy hour will be from 6-9 p.m.

Sawyer Park Sports Bar, 2412 Washington Ave.
This new Washington Avenue bar has created a special Frozen Green Apple martini in honor of the food bank's green apple logo. Patrons who make a $5 donation to the food bank on September 22 will get a complimentary Frozen Apple martini. There will also be a tip jar on the bar to benefit the food bank. Happy hour from 4-9 p.m.

Beaver's, 2310 Decatur
On September 23, Beaver's will host a special happy hour in the lounge from 6-8 p.m. A special happy hour menu including one tailored cocktail, one local draft beer and one appetizer will be offered, with 10 percent of sales from these items going directly to Houston Food Bank.

The Harp, 1625 Richmond
The Harp is known for its trivia nights, and on September 29, patrons are asked to being a donation for the Harp's food drive. Houston Food Bank reps will sell special logo-ed items, and there will even be special Houston Food Bank trivia added to the quiz night, complete with prizes. Trivia is held from 8 to 10 p.m.
