Mobile Stores and Wireless Emergency Communication Centers Open Several Verizon Wireless Communication Stores have re-opened in the wake of Hurricane Ike. Mobile stores and Wireless Emergency Communication Centers (WECCs) have also been deployed to some of the most impacted areas in Houston and Beaumont. Mobile stores are fully stocked with accessories, phones and BroadbandAccess cards. In addition, Verizon Wireless is offering residents the opportunity to make free phone calls and free phone charging, regardless of carrier.
