With the impact of Hurricane Ike, many Houston-area businesses remain closed; however, IBC Bank has been able to reopen 17 of its branch locations to serve customers. Until further notice, branches will be open from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Additionally, more than 25 Houston-area IBC ATMs are open to provide customers access to cash withdrawals and account information. Customers also can access account information through IBC Bank Online, IBC Mobile and IBC Voice.

Highway Tabernacle in Cleveland, Texas is hosting Convoy of Hope which is giving out ice and other necessities. The church is 7 miles east of Cleveland on HWY 321 near Tarkington Prairie.

There is a group from Baldwin Baptist Association from Alabama and Florida that are here in Texas City doing wonderful work by going around and helping homeowners by cutting down and hauling off downed trees. They came to my house and within a little while they had cut down several trees that had fallen and hauled them to the front of the house. They can take no money, they wouldn't even take anything to drink, they have their own supplies and don't want to take anything from those of us that have so little right now. Please let others in the Texas City area know about this service and let this group know that they are appreciated!!!
