The City of Friendswood will lift its curfew restriction effective 5 a.m. Friday, Sept. 26. A POD location has opened in Pearland at Cross Roads Community Church, located at 3350 Manvel Road, Pearland, TX 77584. Today the volunteer phone bank for Hurricane Ike relief efforts will be moving to the office of Volunteer Houston. The new phone bank number is 713-965-0031. People who would like to offer volunteer assistance are asked to call the new number. Agencies that are in need of volunteers to assist with disaster relief are also asked to call Volunteer Houston at 713-965-0031. ...People should be careful when hiring contractors to do work for them.
