Social Security officials are pleased to report the office in Port Arthur will open on Tuesday for service to the public. Five offices remain closed while representatives continue to work with community officials to determine when service can be restored in those areas. The following offices will be closed on Tuesday, September 23: • Beaumont Social Security officials are waiting until utilities can be restored to the closed offices in order to do a complete assessment of damages and determine when the offices can reopen. To find out the location of the nearest open Social Security office, an individual can call toll-free to 1-800-772-1213 and provide the ZIP Code of the local area. Many of the services provided by Social Security offices are also available through the toll-free telephone (1-800-772-1213) or electronically through the internet site at www.socialsecurity.gov. |
