Here is an update on the City of Pearland:

1. Water - Your drinking water is safe. It is also okay to use your irrigations systems.

2. Sewer - The system is on emergency power - minimize usage as much as possible.

3. Relief Supplies - including food - are available at Berry Miller Junior High located at 3301 Manvel Road from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday. After Monday it will be closed. At the end of this message is a list of PODs that FEMA is keeping open at this time.

4. Recovery - FEMA registration is available at the American Legion Post 490 (281-240-3700), 11702 Galveston Rd. (SH 3) across from Ellington Field, 9 a.m. - 7 p.m. Bring the following items: social security number, description of losses, insurance information, directions to the damaged property, and a contact telephone number.

5. Stores & Gas Stations - Are opening as power is restored.

6. Electricity - 58% of 77581 & 14% of 77584 are without power. Centerpoint crews are working in the area. Go to www.centerpointenergy.com for zip code details.

7. Regular Trash Svc. - Has resumed for those in the Pearland City limits - recycling will not resume until further notice. Please keep trash separated from storm debris (see below).

8. Storm Debris Removal - Ongoing in the Pearland City limits. Please have 3 piles - (1) trees, brush (no wood fences as the contractor had informed the City earlier. Wood fences must go into the "structure debris" pile. Sorry for the inconvenience) (2) appliances; (3) structure debris. Bagged leaves and brush will be picked up later and not with this weeks trash or with the storm trees and brush. Do not worry about the standard bundling rules. Numerous crews are collecting storm debris, so please ensure that vehicles are not blocking the piles. Crews will pick up 'burnable' debris first, & then come back for the remaining.

9. City Facilities - Pearland City Hall & the library sustained water damage - temporary City Hall is now located next door at the Community Center & the library is closed until further notice. Water customer service hours are 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., and can be reached at 281-652-1603. Bills can be paid online. Municipal Court is open 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., & can be reached at 281-652-1608.

10. Mosquitoes - Brazoria County is aerial and mobile spraying for mosquitoes in the area.

11. Repairs - Please check your contractors carefully. The city requires permits and verifies the contractors' liability insurance. This is for your protection, especially on roof repairs with windstorm certification requirements.

12. Cable Channel 16, CityView - Due to the storm damage at city hall, the city is unable to provide CityView on channel 16 of the cable network at this time.

13. Travel Conditions - The curfew is Midnight until 5 a.m. daily. Public safety departments continue to provide safety and security to the area.
