As of 5:11 p.m. on Friday, Centerpoint Energy has restored electricity to a million customers. Now, 47 percent of the 2.15 million customers who lost power after Hurricane Ike have been restored.

I am in la Porte closer to the deer park line and had power after the storm but it went off two days after the storm. When I called centerpoint they told me it was just a fuse that services 10-100 homes. I don't understand that if it's just a fuse, why is it not able to be fixed more quickly.
I have not heard any news about la Porte. It's not even covered on the news website.
