The City of Friendswood is requiring that Contractors who will be providing building and repair services in Friendswood as a result of Hurricane Ike register with the City and receive from the City a building contractor's license. One of the purposes of this licensing is to ensure that contractors who will be working on properties in Friendswood are licensed and insured. The City is also waiving permit fees for repair work associated with Hurricane Ike. Residents are asked to verify whether contractors have received licenses from the City before allowing a contractor to work in Friendswood. Residents can contact the City's Community Development Department at 281-996-3201 to verify registration. Contractors can visit the Community Development Department at City Hall, 910 S. Friendswood Drive to register. Friendswood has also put a price gouging ordinance into effect that prohibits vendors and others selling goods or services from unreasonably increasing their prices or rates. Residents who suspect that anyone in our community is price gouging should call the City of Friendswood at 281-996-3335 to report the gouging. 1 CommentsLeave a comment |

Is there a list of contractors who have been licensed by the City, which includes contact information? Is this information available online? Thanks.
