Houstonians have proven time and time over to be the best people in the world, and now is certainly no exception. Thank you so much to all of you that have reached out to help the animals at the Houston Humane Society that are so very much in need as we all recover from the devastation of Hurricane Ike.
Since Saturday, the Houston Humane Society has quintupled in capacity, and we are still taking in stray and injured animals every day. Due to the sudden increase in "animal residents", resources are becoming very scarce. Kitty litter, towels and blankets, water, and dog food are only a few of the supplies that are rapidly running out and desperately needed.
We are still without electricity and water and functioning solely by generator, and your donations are literally keeping us running.
If you are interested in donating to the Houston Humane Society, please feel free to come by the shelter at 14700 Almeda Rd., Houston, TX 77053 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. To make a monetary donation online, visit www.houstonhumane.org and click on "Donate".
Your help is critical and appreciated now more than ever. Thank you so much to all of you that continue to forward our needs on to others that are so generous.
