From 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., the Parks & Recreation department will host "Fun-day" at Strawberry Park. Pasadena residents and families are invited to attend the event, which will feature approximately seven inflatable jumpers/games for kids to enjoy. The city will also be providing a lunch of hot dogs, chips and drinks. Michael Walker, recreation manager, said the department is planning the event to give people a break from their worries. "This is going to be a let's-get-our-mind-off-of-things kind of day," he said. Walker invited local businesses or organizations who want to do anything for the event or add anything to what is already planned to call Parks & Recreation at (713) 740-7062. Individuals who are interested in volunteering can contact Volunteer Pasadena at (713) 475-7259. "Pasadena schools are out right now, and this is a way to get out of the house and give kids something to do," Walker said. "I think it will be a nice break for everyone." |
