Fort Bend County reinstates toll charges

Westpark Tollway and Fort Bend Parkway sections of the toll road will begin charging tolls effective at 12:01 a.m., Thursday, September 25, 2008. Lost revenue to our Toll Road Authority has exceeded $640,000 and failure to restore tolls would jeopardize the ability of the Fort Bend Toll Road Authority to make its debt service payments.

Schools are All Reopened
All of the school districts report that their facilities have power and will be open on Wednesday. All students are to report to for their regular classes.

POD
The Stafford Point of Distribution at Southern Ice Cream Corp, 13755 Greenland will be open again on Wednesday, September 23rd from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. They will distribute water, ice and food.

Power
At noon on Tuesday, the reported outages in Fort Bend County were 8,387 customers or 4.2% of total connections.

Debris Management
As of today it is estimated that over 85,000 cubic yards has been picked up by Fort Bend County and the contractor. If CenterPoint has removed tree limbs from power lines on your property move the debris to the right-of-way for pickup by County crews.

FEMA has now designated a location in Fort Bend County for the Blue Roof Program. Sugar Land Community Center 226 Matlage Way from 8-6 until further notice.
