The 100 Club announced today that donations are being accepted to its "Survivor's Fund" which provides benefits to the dependents of peace officers and firefighters who are killed in the line of duty.

Harris County Sheriff's Detective Tommy Keen died in the line of duty on September 15, 2008 from injuries caused during the aftermath of Hurricane Ike when a tree hit him and caused fatal injuries. He had just signed on for duty and was in uniform preparing to work Disaster Recovery for the Sheriff's Office. Detective Keen is survived by his wife and a son. He was honored as a 100 Club Officer of the Year in 1982.

A $10,000 check will be given to Detective Keen's family to assist with any needs they may have. Additional financial support for the Keen family will be provided, after a review, to include current financial and children's educational needs, is made by the Club.

If you wish to help, contributions may be made at www.the100club.org, or mailed to 100 Club Survivor's Fund - 1233 West Loop South - Suite 1250, Houston, TX 77027-9107. 100% of "Survivor's Fund" donations go to the dependents of law enforcement officers and firefighters killed in the line of duty.
