The boil water advisory has been lifted for all areas of Matagorda County. All of the water systems in the Sargent area have been tested, and the water is safe for regular use. Also, taxpayers impacted by the storm will have until midnight Sept. 22 to meet their tax filing obligations without incurring late filing and payment penalties. This gives residents seven extra days to file the taxes. Residents are also asked to put their debris into four separate piles: 1) Regular household trash - Separate from storm debris. This will be picked up by the regular service provider on the regular scheduled pickup. 2) Vegetation debris, such as limbs and shrubbery, does not need to be bundled. Just place it on the curb. 3) Construction materials 4) Houshold appliances like refrigerators and freezers |
