Kanye West secures spot in Doofus Hall of Fame with VMA stunt

Taylor

Kanye West. Yeah. I don't even know where to start with this guy.

kanyebig14.jpg

In case you missed it, he continued his tradition of making a you-know-what out of himself at the MTV VMAs last night by stealing Taylor Swift's thunder in a big way.

Just as Swift - who, it must be said is just as wholesome and adorable and talented as they come - took the mic to thank her fans for her big Female Video of the Year win, Kanye came swooping out of nowhere to add another chapter to his book of boobery.

He snatched the mic from a clearly shocked Swift and started going on and on about how Beyonce should have won the award.

The crowd - shocked into silence - sat there gape-mouthed, and Beyonce looked horrified.

Realizing he wasn't getting the applause that he so obviously lives for, Kanye gave the mic back and disappeared as quickly as he came.

That left poor Swift standing there, awkward and embarrassed, until she was escorted off the stage.

According to reports, she cried her eyes out behind the scenes.

It was an epic FAIL for the self-proclaimed new King of Pop.

It's no secret that Kanye is a massive doofus, but usually his nincompoopery only hurts himself.

You know, like the time he had a profanity-laden hissyfit backstage at the VMAs when he didn't win, or the time he said he was the voice of this generation, or the time he wore a raccoon tail onstage and threatened to give his VMA away to Lil Wayne, or the time he said he was too busy being creative to use Twitter, or the time he said everyone should give Chris Brown a break for beating Rihanna, or the time he said O.J. Simpson was "amazing," or the time he got his undies in a bunch after Stephen Colbert made a joke at his expense ...

But this time he hurt someone else - a smart, talented, inspiring young artist who didn't deserve to be humiliated on national television.

Beyonce did everything she could to rectify the situation by having Swift come onstage when she won her award, for which she deserves props. (Love her!)

Kanye issued a shouty, all-caps apology on his blog after the show, but who really cares what he has to say at this point?

Nothing can take away from the fact that Kanye West is a disgrace.

He's a disgrace to himself, he's a disgrace to MTV and most of all, he's a disgrace to music.

I know the VMAs thrive on controversy and outlandish behavior, but I really think they should reconsider letting Kanye through the door ever again.

The way I see it, he's like a really annoying ad - the only way to make him go away is to pretend he doesn't exist.

On the other hand, what Kanye was interrupting was a 12 year old thanking Myspace and Twitter for her little statue of an astronaut.

Kind of a lose/lose situation.

I think I know what was running through Kanye's mind:

"They opened this show with a half hour long tribute to a super creepy child molester. They HAVE to forgive me for this."

I APPLAUD HIM ...... AND I THINK HE'S RIGHT ..... IT'S ABOUT TIME SOMEONE SAID SOMETHING!!

He's a super disgrace, and I'm not even sure if his feeble mind has grasped this, but his actions have completely shattered the sweet tribute to Michael Jackson that Janet did. Way to go, Kanye!!! I guess this was all just a part of you taking over the reign of King of Pop, err, King of Poop.

Wow, a low life singer who gets drunk and makes an a$$ of himself regularly ends up getting drunk and making an a$$ of himself again. I'm shocked, shocked to find that Kanye West acted like an ignorant low life trailer trash drunken bum. The amazing thing is that MTV keeps letting him get anywhere near the stage.

MWAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAAAAAA!!!!! King of Poop.

Regardless of whether or not you agree, Beyonce didn't win that award and Taylor Swift did. Be a good sport, not a classless a$$. And don't denegrate Taylor for being young, of all things!

Serena's outburst was another example of lack of class and self-control. Things we could use a little more of in this country. Vulgarity does not belong in the public scene. Some people still have standards and morals!

Kanye should have taken the high road and just shouted his disapproval from his chair like our nations leaders do.

It doesn't matter who should have won, what matters is this jerk interrupts a young and innocent girl who won her first VMA. It doesn't matter if her fans are myspacers or twitters or what. All of you who believe what Kanye did was right were not raised with manners and grace. What Beyonce did was awesome and Kanye should learn something from her. I like Kanye's music and I like Beyonce's music. I don't like Taylors music but that doesn't give anyone the right to disrupt her thank you speech. If we all did what Kanye did, this world would be in more chaos than it is already.

Aaron said:

I know! Can you imagine 6 billion people trying to crowd into that building to interrupt Taylor Swift?

Chaos, indeed. The logistics involved are a nightmare.

In an interesting turn of events, Kanye is Jay Leno's guest tonight as his new show makes its debut. I am going to watch, in hopes that a fountain of delicious, dumb stuff comes out of Kanye's mouth.

Its very hard to be In the music industry, you have a million things to worry about, i myself am an up and coming entertainer. I am currently recording my first album....I live in a small rented room, and work a 9 to 5 to support myself and my music. I have gone through a lot in the past year and at times feel like things are to difficult to deal with, but my music always brings me back to life....
people were with Kanye (myself included) when he lost his mother, I am (was) a fan of his. I can't imagine myself ever getting out of this little room and one day being on TV accepting any awards (I do dream for it). If by god's grace I should ever get to that stage, just to have all the work, hope, and dreams ruined by someone in the fashion that Mr. West did....As my mother and family looked on, I..I...

What you did wasn't just wrong because she is 19, because beyonce is better, because whatever else you may think...its because she made it t somewhere you have been, somewhere you may have never though you would make it to, and you denied her/me/and everyone who has dreams the opportunity to accept it.

You may not care, you still have fans, you still have millions, you still have photographers chasing you around, you made it!!!

I guess no one else deserves that huh? I just erased every reference I have ever made about how great I thought you were in my music. Have a (Good Life) mr west.
