I know this is going to be an unpopular opinion, but I have to say it: I am SO over "Entourage." I noticed myself growing less fond of Vince & Co.'s shenanigans last season, but I kept watching it because a) There was nothing else on and b) I was still trying desperately to fill the gaping void of quality TV left by "The Sopranos." (I just can't fugheddaboudit. Ba dum dum. Tip your waiters and waitresses.) As it's been a while since the "Entourage" season finale, I figured any feelings of malcontent about the hard-partying, misogynistic nincompoops would have dissipated with the passage of time. I figured wrong. I barely got through the first 15 minutes of it before I was in full-on indignant rant mode, pacing around the living room, scaring my cats, doing admittedly bad impersonations of Johnny Drama and messing up my makeup in the process. (The horror.) You know how your mom always told you if you make a funny face long enough, it will stick like that? If I got stuck in Johnny Drama mode, I would have to shutter my windows and withdraw into my apartment Howard Hughes-style, living alone in the dark with my ever-growing pile of unpaid bills and 100-calorie snack pack wrappers, never to appear in public again. Every time I do my Drama face, my husband edges slowly out of the room, careful not to break eye contact with me, reaching absentmindedly for his rolodex full of good divorce lawyers. But I digress. This season's premiere brought about a profound - but admittedly unfortunate - revelation for me: I can't stand the characters on that show anymore. I hate them. Ari and Lloyd are still funny, but even their acts are wearing thin. At the rate Vince tears through leggy, long-haired idiots, the finale will have to be entitled "Vince and the Vicious VD." E is boring, Turtle is pointless and don't even get me stated on Drama. Everyone tells me he's hilarious. I really just think he's disgusting. I can't stand his face. I can't stand anything he says. I hate that expression he always makes and how he moves his head around when he talks. If a man like that approached me in real life, I would be forced to puke on my shoes and deploy the pepper spray, in that order. And I get it - he's supposed to be a neurotic, annoying loser. But he's so good at it, he's moved from annoying but amusing to just plain annoying. And nothing ever happens on this show. Here's how it goes: They have a good time, party, drive cool cars. Vince is famous. Drama says disgusting things about women. A scenario pops up that could signal the end of their lucky run. But in the end, they're all back together, and everything comes up roses. Vince is still famous. E is still boring. Turtle is still pointless, and Drama is still making that face like he just ate a cat poop sandwich. That being said, I'll probably still watch it anyway for several reasons - a) I'm a glutton for punishment and b) There's still nothing else to watch and c) I really used to love this show, and I so want to love it again. So we'll see. Can "Entourage" redeem itself? If not, this could be a looooooong summer for me. 2 CommentsLeave a comment |

No, I feel you. I, too, am over it. But I am super into "Eastbound and Down." Have you watched that? I love it.
