It's over kiddos. I was surprised that Kate filed for divorce -- totally thought it was going to be Jon racing to the courthouse. Apparently they're going to take turns living in the house so they don't disrupt the kids' lives. What? Those kids seem pretty smart. I'm fairly certain they've already got the idea that their lives are falling apart. The two made the announcement on the show; here's an abbreviated version to watch. I'm disappointed in both of them, frankly. Obviously I have no idea what's going on when the cameras aren't on, but I haven't heard much about couples' therapy. Did they try it? Is it really too far gone? There are eight cuter than cute children involved; I wish I had a feeling they tried really hard ... but I just don't. BTW, I am also upset at TLC. Clearly they've known things were going down for awhile, but I don't think they care about this family -- just the money they make off of them. How is it possible there wasn't at least one responsible person at the Discovery Channel to say, "Hey guys -- the show is putting a strain on their marriage. Family first." Shame on you, TLC. They're even airing some one-hour retrospective on their marriage NEXT WEEK. WHAT? Are you kidding me? And shame on us for watching this season with our mouths hanging open. I think tonight was the last night for me. This is a sad ending to a family who seemed so cute and promising just a few years ago. 15 CommentsLeave a comment |

Kate was pretty mean, yes, but I am still not convinced anything makes cheating OK. Also, Kate said last night that Jon wouldn't even talk to her — wow. Way to try and work it out. Seven or eight months is a long time to have marital troubles, but it's not nearly as long as the 10 years it will be before those kids are 18.

Sad to see this happen for the kids sake. But I think it goes both ways. I think Jon has gotten a taste of the single life and wants to explore what's out there, and I think Kate pushed him to it, with her bad attitude and bossyness.

Last time I heard, Free will still rules. With that said, How could Kate push Jon into cheating or leaving? Let's face it, as he stated on the show, he's only 32 years old. Someone looked at him twice. He riding high on the whole star thing and he wants out. I have multiples and if there were any way for me to get out at that age, I think I would have. I feel bad for Kate cause it was my husband that cut and left. She has to be strong. I know that. Good luck Kate.

I'm completely disappointed in this show. I've watched it from the beginning and I just cannot believe for a second that either one tried really hard. Is it just me or does Kate end every sentence with "...for my kids..."? You know Kate, it was you and Jon and those 6 babies before TLC, so if you can't back up and reevaluate your family, then shame on you.

This is sad, not only for them but for the children. I too have been a faithful watcher of this show since it started. TLC seemed to only want to show the time when Kate barked orders at Jon instead of talking to him as her partner in all of this and yes Jon did not stand up or put a foot down to all of this as well. What I don't understand is that with both of them saying that things have been strained for quite a while, so why take the trip to Hawaii to renew the wedding vows for the children. As I suspect it was for the ratings. Divorce is not easy for anyone involved, but people do adjust, kids learn to cope and somehow like Kate says, there is a silver lining somewhere down the road. I think that until all the dust has settled that TLC really needs to rethink their stand on this show and announce that until they receive word from BOTH Jon & Kate that this show will not be seen. I hope and pray that both Jon & Kate really take into consideration the children when trying to settle all of this and that it doesn't become some big drawn out circus. But the saddest thing I didn't hear on Monday night from either one of them is that they still somehow love one another.

I sure the door swung both ways for Jon & Kate. Both had affairs. Kate slammed him every chance he got. What about the grandparents. How come you never see or hear from them. I heard that Kate could not get along with her own parents and did not let Jon's parents see them. How sad that the only way grandparents get to see their grandchildren is on TV.

Is really sad that jon and kate are going to end like this the show was about a couple who they was show the word how beatiful was to be a family and couple this show was about the kid and now they forget about the kid and about how hard is to be couple a family a marriege is not easy. I feel so bad that beatiful family and couple has been destroy because of gosping and kate dont want to quiet this stupid show.

I haven't watched a single episode this season. I think that it should have been Jon and Kate that pulled the plug on this show. TLC is just doing their business. I too don't know what goes on behind closed doors but I don't feel like they tried hard enough either.

i think kate could not depend on jon to provide for the family so she did what she had to, to see that her children were taken care of. if a man traveled to make a living no one would say a word. as for jon he took all the crap and didn't say a word or try to work it out just wanted to chase cute young things. shame on him and shame on her brother and sister in law for their 15 minutes of fame by slamming her. if that is how her family is then i would not want them in my life either.
