Most of the time, the big national pageants fly under the radar. Sure, there is the occasional furor over Morally-Compromised Contestant A taking dirty pictures or getting arrested or whatever, but the actual contests themselves get nothing more than a disinterested nod from the general public. So Lindsay Lohan says she won't strip down on the Strip in Vegas ... unless it's just one time and for a boatload of cash. Way to stick to your guns on that one, kid. Apparently, the rumor mill has been churning that La Lohan was mulling a gig as a lead performer in Peepshow, a super-sexy burlesque production at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino. (Currently, Scary Spice and Kelly Monaco are the big-name stars of the show.) But now Lindsay tells E! News that she's not interested in ... The wife of everyone's favorite sometimes-anti-Semitic actor has filed for divorce after 28 years of marriage. Reports say the couple separated right after his world-famous DUI arrest, but the divorce papers say the time of separation is "to be determined." Hmm ... was it the DUI arrest? And apparently I'm not the only one bored with this burnt-out 22-year-old. According to IMDB.com's STARmeter, she's down 50 percent this week in popularity. Does anyone else feel like Miley Cyrus is kind of a scary trainwreck waiting to happen? Talented, sure. Pretty, definitely. (Albeit a little overly made-up for a lass of 16, if you ask me.) But with every photo faux pas and pouty comment that makes headlines, I find myself thinking Cyrus is creeping ever closer to that sinister Hollywood child star scandal vortex that swallowed the likes of La Lohan and Miz Spears so many years ago.
