Texans Johnson and Williams are very special!

The news is out and it is good for the Texans. When you win, your peers take notice and so does everyone else. Super receiver Andre Johnson and talented defensive end Mario Williams have been named to the pro bowl. It seems like everything is getting better with the local pro football team and it certainly is more fun right now to be a player, a fan and a member of the organization. If you've made it to this level, it is getting to a point where you can't wait to get to work instead of worrying about what it's going to be like to go to the store to buy groceries and have someone throw a banana at you.

Matt Schaub... one gutty performancer against the Titans!

There are many people who have questioned the toughness of Texans quarterback Matt Schaub. But after hanging in there against the Titans, we all found out just what's inside #8. It was a big move to trade for him, especially with the questionable decision by Gary Kubiak to keep David Carr around for an additional year but he is starting to show what many others in the business noticed, that he has a chance to be something special. Kubiak has been touting him from the day he came to Houston and the lanky leader is showing he can beat the best. Didn't Tennessee come here with the top record in the NFL?

Texans going north while the Cowboys are going south!

This is a big weekend in the NFL for the Texans. They are a team on the rise and we are beginning to see what they can become. They are riding a three game winning streak with two of those victories coming on the road in difficult situations. Their offense is exploding with Matt Schaub tossing the ball around and their defense is playing much more aggressive since Dunta Robinson came back. I think they are going to give the team with the best record in pro football a stiff test, if fact, I believe they have a very good chance to beat the Titans this Sunday.

Nothing right now would be more satisfying as ...

That was a cold hearted win for the Texans!

It was either five over or five under on the temperature gauge in Green Bay depending on who you talk to. That is down right cold, even the FROZEN TUNDRU was chilled but it didn't seem to bother the Texans. What a performance for this team that is trying so hard to find an identity. Do you think maybe that time has come for them? How about something like this: THE TEXANS HAVE TURNED INTO COLD HEARTED WINNERS! Do you like the sound of that?

Rice deserves Texas Bowl invitation!

I just got out of a meeting with Texas Bowl officials. Channel 11 is joining with them to help get the word out the December 30th game at Reliant Stadium will be a good one and I couldn't be happier for the first invitee. The Rice Owls have accepted the invitation and I believe local bowl representatives did the right thing by closing the deal early. The Owls are flying high right now and head coach David Bailiff deserves much of the credit for putting together an exciting team to watch.

Mario Williams... See I told you so!

I hate to keep bringing this up, but I will! The Texans choice to select Mario Williams was brilliant back in the 2006 draft and it is even more brilliant today. I said it then and I will say it again! It was the right choice! With the home town pro football team decked out in all red uniforms in front of the world to see on Monday Night Football (by the way, I'm not a fan of their fashion) they didn't play like a team bleeding to death but were inspiring to watch. It was impressive defensively as the quickness and strength of #90 was front and center with his three sacks.
