It wasn't a trick but it certainly was a treat on the eve of Halloween . You know what I'm talking about. The Rockets sweet win over the Mavericks last night in Dallas. So early in the season we witnessed a statement game and man was it something. This is a different group of players for the Rockets this year with a different attitude and barring injury, this season could be one to remember. Folks, it's down right scary how good this team can be.

There are incredible things that happened in sports and with the Phillies winning the World Series, we saw a bounce back of magnificent proportions. Former Astro Brad Lidge is the king of the mound.

We think back of his career here in Houston. He's a guy we nicknamed "lights out Lidge" because of the way he could bring it to the plate. With a wicked fast ball and a nasty slider, he was almost unhittable until the Cardinals Albert Pujols guessed on a Lidge laser and hit a homerun of monumental length to win the final game of the National League Championship Series. I sure wish the Astros were playing in the World Series. That was an enjoyable time in Houston even though the local team was swept by the White Sox a few years back. It may take some extended time to get back to that frenzy but it could come quicker if the Astros can some how add Jake Peavy. It's all about pitching!

I just returned from Rockets practice and I love the fact General Manager Daryl Morey changed the training camp from some place other than Houston. Rudy used to take his team to Galveston to get away from home. Jeff Van Gundy would head to Austin making access more challenging but Morey, in his brilliance, is keeping his team right here and it works for me. I was telling him today he's getting more exposure from all of us and that is good.
