Astros...Don't count them out!

Are you feeling the same way I'm feeling? I was in a meeting earlier today and a lady told me she couldn't wait because she was going to the baseball game tonight. The Astros are opening a quick three game series with the Washington Nationals riding a six game home winning streak.

We are all trying to get used to this kind of baseball. For so many years, it has always been about pitching around here but not this season. I'm not saying the arms aren't there, but I am saying, it's just a matter of time before this offense explodes. It's really fun to watch what is happening and that is the foundation of this friends excitement.

The other night, just watching the game with the Brewers, a well pitch game turned into an offensive circus. If you were sitting in the stands eating popcorn and drinking a cold beverage of your choice, all of a sudden, out of nowhere, this club has the ability to hit the long ball. First it was Tejada, then Berkman and finished off by Lee. Back to back to back homeruns and the Brewers were wobbly. Add to that a couple of Hunter Pence blasts and it was over.

It doesn't get more enjoyable than that. The Astros may not win a World Series title playing this way but if you just want to have fun, head to the ballpark. You just never know when the fireworks are going to go off and it doesn't need to be a Friday night!

This year's Astros are very exciting as in the past anytime the Astros were down after about the 7th inning, it was time to go home. Not the same this year, as a 2-3 run deficit can be eaisly achieved when the team is hitting on all cylinders. The Tejada/Berkman combination is the best since the Berkman/Alou, as this one-two punch is exciting to watch. Regards.
