Rockets/Jazz playoff games of the past... it's time to cancel the Mailman!

There is absolutely no reason the Rockets should lose tonight in Utah. Don't give me any excuses about rowdy fans, high altitude or injuries. The Rockets know they can win in Salt Lake City and they know they can blowout what Utah has to offer. You can't say the same if you are a Jazz fan. But today I am troubled as we get set for another high emotional contest.

I'm thinking back on all the postseason series the Rockets and the Jazz have played. There have been six of them, the Rockets winning two and the Jazz winning four. In 1994 and 1995 the Rockets strummed the Jazz on their way to two NBA championships. I'll never forget Hakeem Olajuwon, Clyde Drexler, Otis Thorpe, Vernon Maxwell, Kenny Smith, Robert Horry, Sam Cassell and a host of others battling those two seasons with the likes of John Stockton and Karl Malone. They were classic, physical series. Stockton was a pest and Malone was a monster. He was one big dude. His nickname was the mailman but today I write that he has failed to deliver in the most important part of his life.

You decide for yourselves as you read an article from a paper out of Buffalo talking about one of the Bills recent draft choices:

How do you feel after reading that? The link was sent to me by one of our friends on the net. He certainly wasn't happy about it and it made me mad to think that this giant of a man was so small in his committment to his son. In fact, I did have a little respect for the way Karl played although I didn't like some of his on-the-court antics. That opinion has changed as I made my way through the article.

Good for his son! I hope he makes it with the Bills. It appears all credit for his success goes to mom but I'm sure there were other strong influences in his life. He has learned to cope without dad but I have to believe, unlike pops, he will put his STAMP on things and deliver things FIRST CLASS.
