Rusty Hardin, Victoria Osteen's attorney: "If you put a no on this question, we end this blast. If you conclude that there is no assault, if you click no, you click the buzzer and we are out of here. And you take as long as you think that is appropriate. If the 10 of you think the answer should be no and there is no reason to consider any of the other questions, go away. How are you going to decide that? Let's look at that: A person commits an assault if 1. he knowingly and recklessly causes bodily injury to another. I am going to say that that did not happen. The evidence is conclusive that it did not happen. So that would be a no. There is no evidence in this record that Ms. Osteen threats Ms. Brown with eminent bodily harm. She never threatened her. Ms. Brown says that Victoria Osteen intentionally harmed her. You have to believe preponderance of the evidence... and you have to believe her that Victoria Osteen intentionally and knowingly physically hit her. But Ms. Brown and Maria Johnson are the only ones that say that." |
