Reginald McKamie delivers Sharon Brown's closing arguments. Reginald McKamie, Sharon Brown's attorney: "During the deliberations you may have disagreements.... Sharon Brown is firm in her commitments and her convictions. I admire Sharon Brown, she's a fighter. Do you imagine what it takes to say I am going to go into this courtroom and say I'm going to fight this woman. She is a hero. Sharon has worked hard all her life. She was at General Motors, she worked in an assembly line. And then she worked for a road show. And then she has been with Continental. And she has gotten commendation after commendation about what she did. She even took an injured co-worker so they could watch her. She followed the rules all her life. She grew up in Fort Worth. There are others for which the rules just don't apply. Joel Osteen talked about going to India. He talked to higher authority and got his way. And he said ma'am, that was God's favor.' That kind of conduct and that kind of behavior... Victoria.. she thought she was entitled and she thought it was okay to assault a flight attendant. Let me show you her statement from December 19th." |
