Gas leak causes evacuation in east Harris County
Some families in east Harris County were evacuated from their homes because of a gas leak near E.Wallisville at North Main.
Investigators said construction crews broke a liquid petroleum gas line Saturday afternoon.
A handful of people were evacuated and a road near the leak has been shut down.
"Basically at this point they're letting the line bleed down and let all the gas leak out of it and until that happens the roadway will be closed," said Sgt. Wiley Hogue of the sheriff’s office.
Crews poured water over the break to diffuse the gas and keep it from igniting.
No injuries were reported.
