Reported physician charged in shooting
Galveston County Sheriff's officials said a man who is reportedly a physician has been charged in connection with a Tuesday night shooting.
Around 7:20 p.m. police responded to multiple 911 calls about a shooting.
They found a 22-year-old Dickinson man who had been shot in the chest and shoulder.
Witnesses helped police locate the vehicle and suspect at a residence in the 1900 block of O'Reily Bend, about a mile from the shooting scene. Deputies took 33-year-old Wameeth Fadhli into custody there.
Sheriff's investigators worked into the night interviewing witnesses and the suspect, as well as examining both scenes for evidence. A motive for the shooting is not clear at this point in the investigation.
Fadhli, a second year resident physician, has been charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, a second degree felony, and remains in custody at the Galveston County Jail under a $250,000 bond.
