Rail service to Med Center limited Sunday

Getting to the Texas Medical Center by rail will be a problem Sunday.

That's because a planned building implosion in the area is prompting Metro to temporarily shut down METRORail service between Dryden and Hermann Park/Rice University Stations.

A portion of the 8 South Main bus route will also be affected.

Fannin and many other streets in the TMC will also be temporarily closed and pedestrian activity will be prohibited in the area.

Sunday's shut down will take place from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.

During the service interruption, rail service will operate on a 15-minute frequency.
