Astros deny report that Clemens has signed with them
The Houston Astros say Roger Clemens has not signed with the Astros as reported, but they believe a deal is close.
Astros owner Drayton McLane told 11 Sports that he will be in Houston tomorrow and hopes to announce a Clemens deal soon.
Newsday.com reported Tuesday that the deal is already done.
The Web site said Clemens, 43, "has signed a one-year deal that is believed to be worth about $3.5 million per month, which will probably equate to about $10.5 million for the season, depending on when exactly he returns to action."
