Landmark transformed into affordable housing
A Houston landmark has been transformed into affordable housing.
The Elder Street Artist lofts complex near downtown Houston officially opened.
The building was once the Jefferson Davis Hospital, which was Houston's first city-owned hospital to care for indigent patients.
After standing vacant for 20 years, a non-profit group stepped in and converted it into 34 lofts.
