HPD overtime coming under closer scrutiny

Some Houston police officers are about to come under much closer scrutiny about their pay, the Houston Chronicle reported.

A look at city payroll records by the Houston Chronicle revealed 22 officers earned more $50,000 in overtime last year.
Seven officers actually doubled their pay by working extra hours.
City Controller Annise Parker is already busy auditing the department's productivity and overtime.
Now she said she plans to pay more attention to the highest paid employees.
