Walgreen seeks gag order in discrimination lawsuit

Lawyers for Walgreen have asked a judge in
Nevada to issue a gag order to stop a Texan from talking about his
discrimination lawsuit against the company.

Bruce Johnson of Houston is one of four black men who sued the
company in June of 2003.

Johnson today said Walgreens can't gag the country from voicing
their opinion about race discrimination.

The men each seek two and a-half (M) million dollars from
Illinois-based Walgreen.

The four had complained about the quality of a photograph
processed at a store in Reno.

The suit claims the clerk shouted a racial slur, slammed a door
and refused service.

Attorneys for the drug store chain note the widespread publicity
that the case has received, amid concerns that the jury pool will
be tainted.

A hearing is Thursday on the request for a gag order.
