MetroRail back online for Thursday rush hour

Metro has completed soil testing beneath its MetroRail track at San Jacinto and Hermann Drive and determined it is safe to resume normal rail service tonight.

With a return to normal service for Thursday’s morning rush hour, trains will depart platforms every six minutes from 4:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and service will return to the Museum District northbound platform.

For the past three days, Metro's engineers performed a number of tests at the site where a water line break was discovered Sunday by a City of Houston contractor. Those tests confirmed that the contractor’s repairs on Monday and Tuesday were sufficient to meet their safety standards.
