Co-Cathedral of Sacret Heart to be "topped out"
The Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart will be "topped out" Friday.
The church, at 1115 St. Joseph Parkway, is currently under construction downtown.
On Friday it will have reached being built to its highest point of 117 feet tall.
The archbishops will bless the bronze dome on the ground. Linbeck Construction crews will then lift the 80,000-pound dome using a special crane to place it on top of the cathedral.
Construction of the cathedral is scheduled for completion in September 2007.
