Amazing Race: One red bean

OK, so what if I shed a few tears after the Gaghans were eliminated Tuesday night. Thanks to one elusive blankin' red bean, my favorite Amazing Race team is gone ... and not even Phil Keoghan can bring 'em back.

CBS Early Show interview with the Gaghans

But before they said their goodbyes and little Carissa choked back tears at the pit stop, there was plenty of ground to cover.

The theme that continued to develop in Episode 6 was the team-by-team dislike for Florida's Weaver family. They were welcomed with the race's first yield, courtesy of the Paolos.

Is it their snippy barbs or their family-wide use of peroxide hair treatments that prompts such scorn from the other teams? Personally,
I enjoy momma's insightful take on the events around her like, "I'm sick of doing stuff I can't do."

Not sure if that'll show up on a Tony Robbins motivational poster anytime soon, but it's a refreshing yet dysfunctional twist on the "can-do" attitude.

TAR QUICK HITS

Best Quote: "Good job Ma, good job!" Was that smart mouth D.J. Paolo saying something nice to his mom, Marion?

Classic Walter: Sheesh Walter, you outdid even yourself in Episode 6. In a remote Costa Rican village, with his three daughters, Wally Bransen gets the willies and refuses to get out of the car to ask for directions. He instead suggests one of his daughters go in his place. Kiss that Father of the Year Award goodbye.

First place: Paolo family (Prize: Each member gets to choose a Segway, Vespa or four-wheeler of their very own.)

Last place: Gaghan family (eliminated … sniff, sniff)

I only tuned in to watch the Gaghan family. I had hoped they would take it all. Now, I don't care who wins. I don't care much for the others. The Gaghan family was awesome. The kids are so young, but so eager to do what it took to win. I cried when I realized they were last. I was hoping that it would not be an elimination leg.

The show isn't worth watching anymore.

I too only tuned in for the Gaghan family. The parents were always encouraging the kids. The kids didn't fight. Such a wonderful family. And dad's one pitch hit last week was amazing. Not to mention how far it went. I cried too. I wish Phil would have given her a hug. Some of the great things the family said...
Carissa "We can just go 120 mph and go right over the top of it" with the mud pit.

Dad "Why do I have to carry the (big idol) I want the dog.."
Carissa "I can't carry THAT!"

I guess since they are gone, I will go from best to worse. And hope the Paolo's win just to piss off the other teams.
PS the Gaghans never tried to back stab anyone.
