Amazing Race: Fightin' Paolos bite the dust

Video: CBS interview with the Paolos

And then there were four.

It's been a rough two weeks for this Amazing Race fan. Last week, we lost the uplifting, go-get-'em Gaghans and last night we said goodbye to the gimme-the-map-or-I'll-punch-your-lights-out Paolos.

They were my two biggest reasons for watching. So instead of rehashing the double-episode from last night, I'll share my Top 7 Reasons to keep watching.

No. 1: Geography faux pauxs: Outside Phoenix the Weavers discuss the question, "What state are we in?"

No. 2: I'll never have to watch Momma Paolo put a pair of granny panties over her clothes again.

No. 3: The split-personality Weavers, who profess their Christian faith while throwing garbage out the window at another passing team.

No. 4: Meagan Linz. It's not easy competing with three brothers who are better suited for starring roles on "The Real World" or "Blind Date."

No. 5: Phil's delivery: No matter how many times he says, "You're the last team to arrive," my palms get sweaty.

No. 6: That wacky gnome on the Travelocity commercials

No. 7: Wally "baggage" Bransen. How long until the three daughters ditch their dad on a farm where he can run free with other under-achieving fathers?

TAR QUICK HITS -- Episode 7
Best Quote: "You don't have any yields left and we do, Sweets" -- Momma Weaver to a frightened looking D.J. Paolo

First place: Godlewski family (Prize: Trip for four to Belize)

Last place: Bransen Family (Non-elimination)

TAR QUICK HITS -- Episode 8

Best Quote: "Don't yell at me, I'll take your frickin' head off" –- Momma Paolo to a frightened looking D.J. Paolo

First place: Godlewski family (Prize: Travel trailer)

Last place: Paolo family (Eliminated)

I enjoy the Amazing Race. I find it very exciting and the traveling wonderful. I must say however on this race I was stunned at the Paolos family. They way the boys spoke to their mother was very disrespectful. I felt so sorry for her.

I was a little disappointed in the Weaver girls for not being accepting of the Pink Ladies caring but we must remember that the one that does most of the whining and commenting is the 16 year old girl - I've had a 16 year old daughter (now 21) who was trying to live a Christian life - 16 is emotional regardless of whether you are a Christian or not!! The whole family seemed to wear their feelings on their sleeves but we also have to remember the tramatic experience they had with their husband and father being killed so recently and they were fighting to be independent and stick together as a family - traumatic experiences cause dramatic behavior. Last of all but most of all, people REALLY need to realize that just because a person chooses professes to be trying to lead a Christian life does NOT mean that they will behave perfectly - Christians are still subjected to the world and they are still human and they will still make mistakes just like everyone else!!! Especially during emotional times and the Weavers were dealing with a death to one of the most important members of their family and they were dealing with the emotions of the race - just like Paolos who, to me, behaved far worse than the Weavers - especially DJ! My wish is that America would cute the Weavers a little more slack.

At first I was pulling for the Weaver family because of their recent loss, and I couldn't understand why all the other families seemed to despise them. However, I am now beginning to understand. They are self-proclaimed Christians in word only -- certainly not by their actions. They are small, petty, and whiney. I am sick of them saying ugly tacky things about the other families (not to mention throwing trash at them) and then complaining because the other families are talking ugly about them. They use the "We are Christians" way too much to act like they do. True Christian behavior does not include putting down other people, making up derogatory names like "Desperate Housewives," or whining all the time. I say "Go Pink Ladies." I just love the sisters and am now pulling for them.
