The Texans will be trying to bounce back from that heartbreaking defeat
to the Titans last week. However, stopping Phillip Rivers and L.T. could be a problem.
I know the Chargers have more important things on their minds, and
at this writing we don't even know where the game will be played ,but you
still have to consider that it was Kerry Collins who torched the Texans last week.
Not Peyton Manning ,or Tom Brady, it was Kerry Collins . Throw in the fact
that Rivers has added Chris Chambers to play catch with , the 20th ranked
Texans pass defense could be in trouble....

Maybe its as simple as reaching the big "3 0", but I doubt it . An athlete never
knows when his skills will start to fade, but there seems to be other
factors involved in Shaun Alexander's poor showing for the Seahawks.
Keep in mind he missed most of last season with a broken bone in his foot ,
and now he's dealing with a wrist injury . Also , there have been changes
in the offensive line , and don't forget about fullback Mack Strong retiring .
But the most disturbing thing is he just looks slow . Its almost like he can't
reach the holes before they close ...

My sleeper of the week is Lions quarterback Jon Kitna vs Tampa Bay
and their tough defense .
I have no sound facts to backup my choice its really just a feeling .
In fact, the Lions offense has been missing in action of late .
They haven't been able to find the endzone , scoring no touchdowns
in 9 of their last 10 quarters .
But I still think its time for a Kitna sighting and I'll tell you why .

We know that the eye is quicker than the hand, but was it an illusion
or did the Saints really find their offense vs the Seahawks on Sunday night?
Is is time to trust Drew Brees again ? The answer is yes , for this week anyway.
Brees threw for 264 yards and 2 touchdowns vs Seattle , so he should
be at least that good vs the Falcons .
Reggie Bush also appears to headed in the right direction . He ran for
141 total yards, with 97 coming on the ground . Maybe eating at Subway with
Jarrett is doing Reggie some good .

Good or bad ,the law of averages catches up to everyone .
This week the football gods will shine on Larry Johnson of the Chiefs.
Actually , he's being blessed by the schedule-makers . K.C. faces
Cincinnati this week and that defense can cure whatever is ailing you
on offense . No one needs a breakout came more than L.J.
It seems impossible, but so far this season Johnson has one 100 yard
rushing game, and no touchdowns.
The Bengals are ranked 29th against the run so he should get well this week.

You can expect the Texans to be major players in the fantasy world
Sunday when they host the winless Dolphins.
No matter who starts at running back Ahman Green,
or Ron Dayne , they should be a huge factor on the ground.
The Texans have struggled to run the ball since Green went out with
a bruised knee. But in comes the Dolphins surrendering 199 yards
on the ground per game.

I think it was the 70's , but somewhere in the back of my mind
I remember an awful song called "Love the one your with".
Several N.F.L. teams might have a key player out, so they'll be loving
the backup they have .
One situation to monitor closely is the one in Denver with Travis Henry
and Selvin Young . On Sunday Henry left the Indianapolis game with
a sprained ankle . He returned to the game briefly but has not practiced
yet this week.
