Dear Lisa:
We, in the Filipino-American community, really miss your news telecasts. While we respect your decision not to be in the public eye, we invite you to be our emcee to a fundraising gala honoring Dr. Denton Cooley on Saturday 9/22/07 at Omni Hotel (Woodway). Sponsored by People Helping People Foundation International, the gala will raise funds for the much-needed livelihood projects for the poorest of the poor families in the Philippines. We believe your presence at the gala will boost attendance.
Hope you do not mind our using this blog as a means to invite you. We will appreciate your acknowledging this invitation by responding to linaumali@hotmail.com
Best regards,
Lina Umali

Dear Lisa:
In the past several years I have been at events that you have hosted. I was wondering if you would be so kind to host an art auction in October 2007. Could you please contact me with a yes or no answer at president@hglbtcc.org
I am sorry for trying to contact you this way, but no one at KHOU wanted to pass along a message.
Thank you very much for everything that you have done for our community.

Hi Lisa,
Will miss your news telecasts. Met you briefly last year during a Houston Audubon Society outing in Montgomery County -- it rained but you stayed the entire time. I know you care about animals and birdlife. Thanks.
Good luck,
Joe A.

"What will happen to Animal Attraction? The station will do its best to keep it going. Web story ideas (after December 22nd) can be emailed to mhomer@khou.com. No guarantee she will be able to post them. She will do what she can".
No reason why you cannot go "private" and operate your own "Animal Attraction" Blog seperate from KHOU.

Lisa,
Just wanted to say good luck to you and you'll truly be missed especially when it comes to Giff Nielsen's coverage of sports. At times your comments during the high school football highlights were pretty funny. Giff will have a hard time finding a new sidekick.

Lisa,
I admire your courage to make such a decision. Thank you for sharing yourself with us on TV. As with everything, life does go on and as it does the most important thing is for us to "happy". I'm sure that this was a great experience for you and now it's time for a new one. I understand and support your decision. I wish you all the best and may you have a wonderful Christmas!

Speaking informally as a member of Friends of BARC, I'd like to thank you for all you've done to help & promote our group & its mission!
You've spread awareness of the plight of the animals at BARC, & aided us in our efforts to make their lives more comfortable. Many positive changes have occurred at BARC, with more to come, and you've played a role in much of that.
The animal community in general owes you a large debt of gratitude.
And Friends of BARC, specifically, thanks you very, very much & wishes you the best in your future life choices.
I (we) hope you'll remain involved in animal welfare in Houston!
We always need loving, caring & dedicated people like you in our battle against the mistreatment of our furry friends.
Thanks again!

Don't know how to say it any better! There's a huge 4 legged community - and their 2 legged friends, of course! - who will surely miss you Lisa! Your interest and efforts in helping all the needy animals in Houston have been deeply appreciated, and I hope you know how much they have helped! I wish you the best in whatever irons you pull out of the fire! If they are animal related you'll have a built in support group! Though I've never actually talked to you, your emails were always a joy to read, and I thank you for your time! Good luck Lisa!

Hey - anytime you decide to be on the other side of the camera, you can always have a job with me!! WE ALL LoVE you so much - not that I care about the tv stuff....IT IS YOU that people LOVE - and your love and concern for our 'babies' and all your good deeds. I hope you have a perfect Christmas to follow your last days at 11 - Guess I have to go back to watching the other station I used to watch... just kidding - actually, I like that cute guy that sits next to you as well.
Let me be one of the first 'thousands" to wish you much success. Oh, btw,... did you get the cd I sent yet? I did send them to the station.
Love ya my friend....

Lisa, I want to thank you for choosing Houston as your private home. Houston will continue to embrace you as it has a number of artists (musicians, ballet, writers, etc.) and sports legends. Thanks for your interest in animal and fitness causes. I wish that I could shake your hand and say "Job Well Done". May God Bless You, your new career, and your future family as time goes by. I hope to meet you in person some day.

Lisa, you have been an angel in the animal community and I CANNOT WAIT to see what kind of wonderful things you will do for the animals with all your extra time now. Your passion for the animals makes you a beautiful person, and I admire your decision to pursue all your dreams! Good Luck!!!!

Hey Lisa,
Congratulations on your career move! It takes a confident woman to take a leap of faith in a different direction. I'm proud of you! I know for a fact that whatever you decide to embark upon.. you will be successful at it! May God continue to bless you in all of your future endeavors! Take care of yourself..and Indy.

Lisa - I thank you for all you have done for the local animal/rescue community. Your presence at the many rescue/shelter fundraisers is always appreciated. I hope you find a way to continue your good work and that someone else will step up to the plate to keep the issue of pet over-population, etc. in the public eye. My rescued Rottweiler from the Homeless Pet Placement league just passed her Therapy Dogs International test! I hate that some "shelters" would have sentenced Lady to death just because of her breed. She is the sweetest and best behaved dog I have ever owned. I will never understand why her previous owners gave her up (and wanted her euthanized).

Lisa,
I'm really sad to hear you're leaving. Do you plan to stay in Houston?? As Donna said, you are the reason I watch Channel 11 news. It was so nice to know someone in the public eye could bring attention to the same issues I care about. I do admire you for following your passion. I also hope that you'll open a new "animal attraction" type blog in the future so we can continue networking. Keep my address incase you decide to!
Have a Merry Christmas Lisa, we will miss you!

Lisa, good luck and God bless your new endeavors. You will be missed. I love Animal Attractions and am sad that you will not be doing it any more. You've done a wonderful job helping get the word about issues, events, etc. out to people and I thank you. I know the four legged angels love you for it and will miss you too! Good luck!

Good luck...I admire someone who can step away from such a position.
I hope you find the lifestyle you cherish.
Best regards.

Lisa, I'm so very sorry to read that you are leaving KHOU and I feel as Donna wrote that you are the reason I watch channel 11. I haven't watched you very long, after finding out how you help animals I started watching channel 11 news, my husband watches fox, but I do not like fox at all, so I was very happy when I started watching 11 and seeing a more caring news cast.
I wish you good luck in your choice to change careers and I know you will be missed on the news. A caring person with a heart as she reads our news is always a good thing, so you will be missed. Good Luck and may God Bless you, oh and give your doggies a head rub from me and my doggies. Tonya

Lisa,
Sorry to see you leave. You will be missed but I'm sure you'll be around, continuing to do great things all over the city. Best of luck to you and I hope you enjoy whatever you end up doing,

The first thing I do when I log onto Khou I scroll straight down to your animal attraction column. I am very sad to hear you are leaving, but I am happy to hear about your advances in life. Good Luck with whatever you do! Farewell.

Dear Lisa,
We are so sorry you will be leaving KHOU. My husband & I have watched you since you arrived. I just can't believe it's been almost 10 yrs.
Very best to you with all your endeavours, but we will really miss your beautiful, smiling face every day at 5:00!

Lisa, I am sad to hear you are leaving Channel 11 - its one of the main reasons why that is the only channel I watch! But I am always happy for someone who wants more to go after it!! So here's wishing you all the best in the future! I have to admit that I will miss your help in the animal sector - and your Animal Attraction - more than I can say! You have been involved so much in helping all the furbabies who cant help themselves and your input and love will be missed terribly!! If at all possible maybe you can develop some type of website to continue on with the wonderful work you do on Animal Attraction - I know I would enjoy that!! Once again - prayers and good thoughts are with you on your future plans!!
