Several states and Canada implemented restrictions and/or additional entry requirements for Texas equine animals after equine piroplasmosis was detected in South Texas. The Texas Animal Health Commission has received the following requirements. If you plan to ship equine animals (horses, mules, zebras or donkeys) out of Texas and the state of destination entry requirements are not posted on The Texas Animal Health Commission website at www.tahc.state.tx.us, call ahead to ensure your animals have met all entry requirements.
